Logistics 5.0 is a new step in the evolution of supply chain management and constitutes the core of technological integration with people at the centre stage and encouragement of resilience, sustainability, and new sophisticated digital technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain, the Internet of Things, and big data analytics. Logistics 5.0, which combines human intelligence with automated systems, attempts to overcome the weaknesses of its predecessor, Logistics 4.0, by focusing on environmental responsibility and social equity. This paper presents a review of the existing literature to explore strategic approaches to the application of Logistics 5.0 in the industrial and transportation segments of the sector that are very important facets of the national economy and experience issues in infrastructural shortages, regulatory inefficiency and logistical bottlenecks. Based on the Dynamic Capabilities Theory, Network Theory, and the Resource-Based View, the study discusses how the models can be used to increase the efficiency of operations, reduce costs, and support the sustainable development of such industries as manufacturing, oil and gas, and freight transportation. The results of the literature show that the implementation of Logistics 5.0 can decrease the transit time by 30 per cent, cut the emissions through the environment-friendly operations, and increase the resilience of the supply chain to disruptions, like pandemics or political crises that might affect supply chain flows. Notwithstanding these advantages, challenges still exist, especially in developing situations such as Nigeria, where there is poor digital infrastructure, a lack of skills, expensive implementation, and disconnected policies. The research notes that the adoption should be anchored on the importance of the public-private partnerships, human capital investments, and reforms of the policies. All in all, the results show that Logistics 5.0 can lead to the diversification of the economy, the improvement of industrial efficiency, and the further inclusion of Nigeria in the global value chains to build a stable and sustainable logistics environment.
